Postgraduates Studies

H

ello everyone,

In this blog we are going to talk about graduate studies.

Have you ever wondered what to do after to finish your professional career? Is continuing studying an option?

Personally, I believe that postgraduate degrees are an excellent option to grow as a professional, but before enrolling in one you must take many considerations.

First of all, it’s important to decide when to take it. If you do it immediately after to finish your degree, you will be able to access a better career and earn a better salary when you graduate, but you could also be overqualified for the position you are applying for and not be chosen because instead of accumulating experience, you preferred to continue with your studies.

For me it all depends on motivation and having clear goals. When it comes to study for a postgraduate degree, as when studying a normal career, there will always be economic or social obstacles and new academic challenges to face.

The key is to know how to organize study, leisure and work times if that is the case. In addition, it’s important to know in advance how to finance these graduate studies since, despite being shorter, they are much more expensive than undergraduate degrees.

The best thing to do in this regard is to go step by step with the decisions that are made and keep in mind that if an opportunity to do a postgraduate degree in Chile or in another country presents itself, it’s because it’s for you!

Blog 6: Thing you are going to do after quarantine

Today I want to tell you about my plans for when the quarantine ends. I think that like many people, after this closed time, the first thing we want to do is reunite with our families. In my case, I want to see my brothers, my niece and my boyfriend. I would like to have a family reunion, eat something delicious and have a good time together. Also, I would like to go on a trip with them. I want to camp a weekend, go to parties and enjoy everything that I haven’t been able to lately. But what I want most is simply to make up for lost time, hug my loved ones and take advantage of every second we can. I think that he main thing after quarantine is to "live" again  and learn to enjoy the little things. And what about you?  What plans do you have for when the quarantine ends? Tell me.

The role of technology in my life

W hen I was 12 years old, my mother gave me my first cell phone. I was so happy because I always wanted to have mine, but she had told me that I was still too young to have it. Since that day it has become my favorite technological object and it is the one I use the most. Since I was a child I have always thought that technology is amazing and useful, but that you must handle it with care, because there are those who use it for evil. However, I must admit that lately I have become very dependent on technology. I think that's due to the pandemic and having to study and work online. This year I have spent a lot of money on technology, because it has been necessary for my education. I bought a new computer, a microphone, and a tablet, which I use every day to study. What I like most about technology is that it allows me to do thousands of things at the same time, from taking a photo to editing video clips. Without a doubt, it simplifies our lives, in addition to the fact that in situa...

Past memories / My best trip

L a st summer, I had the opportunity to visit Cartagena de Indias, a famous city in my native country, Colombia. This trip was improvised, because we did not know what to do to travel in the pandemic. Finally, on January 16th I boarded the air with my brother, Diego. It was our first travel alone, because we had always traveled as a family . However, when we arrived at Cartagena, our mother was in the hotel waiting for us. While we were there, we visited the Rosario Islands, the Naval Museum of the Caribbean, the castle of San Felipe de Barajas, also other beautiful places. On the islands we drank "Cocoloko", a typical Caribbean drink that has rum, tequila and vodka . Also, we ate typical Colombian food, which of course we like a lot. I already miss arepas , almojabanas , buñuelos , etc. and I also miss my “ tinto ” (coffee) in the morning. These vacations were very special for me because I had never visited other cities or places in my country, only Bogotá, the city ...
