Blog 1: Who am I ?

Hi everyone!

My name is Adriana Lizcano. I'm 19 years old. I was born in Bogotá, Colombia but I've living in Chile since 2005.
When I got here I lived in a town in the Valparaíso region called Putaendo, famous for being "the first free town of Chile". Also it is a very quiet place and full of nice people. Trust me, would you love to meet it!

Since I came to Chile there is something that I have never stopped liking: the cueca. I was in a folk group for 5 years and started dancing with my brother. Together we won many contests!

Currently, I live in Santiago with my mom and brothers. Last year I started studying Journalism.
I really liked it, but I want to finish soon and work on television.

Past memories / My best trip

L a st summer, I had the opportunity to visit Cartagena de Indias, a famous city in my native country, Colombia. This trip was improvised, because we did not know what to do to travel in the pandemic. Finally, on January 16th I boarded the air with my brother, Diego. It was our first travel alone, because we had always traveled as a family . However, when we arrived at Cartagena, our mother was in the hotel waiting for us. While we were there, we visited the Rosario Islands, the Naval Museum of the Caribbean, the castle of San Felipe de Barajas, also other beautiful places. On the islands we drank "Cocoloko", a typical Caribbean drink that has rum, tequila and vodka . Also, we ate typical Colombian food, which of course we like a lot. I already miss arepas , almojabanas , buñuelos , etc. and I also miss my “ tinto ” (coffee) in the morning. These vacations were very special for me because I had never visited other cities or places in my country, only Bogotá, the city ...

Academic challenges

H ello everyone, Today I am going to tell you about my academic challenges and my experience. The truth is that I have always considered myself a person who likes to study and learn new things. However, since I entered university, I have had difficult moments that have made me doubt my purposes. In the first year of my career, I had demotivated due to I had many breaks because of  strikes, then when the pandemic started, and I had to adapt to this remote education which was very difficult for me. It has never been so difficult for me to concentrate or study as it is now. The fact of learning everything through a screen makes me constantly think that I have not learned anything and that is very sad. I think that anyway there are things that I have reinforced thanks to this context, for example working in a group and being much more anticipated to do my homework. It seems to me that it is the only good thing about everything that is happening to us. I am sure that my greatest academi...

Blog 6: Thing you are going to do after quarantine

Today I want to tell you about my plans for when the quarantine ends. I think that like many people, after this closed time, the first thing we want to do is reunite with our families. In my case, I want to see my brothers, my niece and my boyfriend. I would like to have a family reunion, eat something delicious and have a good time together. Also, I would like to go on a trip with them. I want to camp a weekend, go to parties and enjoy everything that I haven’t been able to lately. But what I want most is simply to make up for lost time, hug my loved ones and take advantage of every second we can. I think that he main thing after quarantine is to "live" again  and learn to enjoy the little things. And what about you?  What plans do you have for when the quarantine ends? Tell me.
